SolarEdge introduces an energy management system, providing savings for homeowners
SolarEdge Technologies, a global frontrunner in smart energy technologies, is set to introduce its groundbreaking innovation, SolarEdge ONE, during the Intersolar Europe event. This cutting-edge energy operating system represents a significant advancement, as it orchestrates numerous optimal energy choices on a daily basis. These decisions stem from intelligent forecasts encompassing solar energy generation, energy consumption trends, and electricity pricing. SolarEdge ONE empowers homeowners to maximize surplus photovoltaic energy, leverage off-peak timeframes, and optimize real-time control over home loads. Ultimately, this system yields energy and cost savings, enhancing the overall efficiency and value of residential solar energy utilization.
SolarEdge ONE was specifically designed to address homeowners’ concerns regarding fluctuating utility rates, intricate tariff structures, and complex energy import/export dynamics, which are prevalent in Europe. The system relies on advanced artificial intelligence algorithms that can adapt to changing prices every 15 minutes. This adaptability allows it to maximize energy exports during periods of high market prices and intelligently manage home battery charging when electricity tariffs are lower. Furthermore, the system excels in optimizing PV backup and storage, ensuring more dependable and extended backup duration.
In addition to SolarEdge ONE, the company is introducing the SolarEdge Home Local Controller. This innovative controller facilitates integration with verified third-party partners, enabling the centralized management of energy loads linked to the cloud. Under the SolarEdge Home offering, the Local Controller will support the integration of local electric vehicle (EV) charging through Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) and Vaillant heat pumps through EEBUS integration. By effectively controlling power flow among compatible heavy-duty devices and leveraging the efficiency of SolarEdge’s DC-coupled architecture, the system further enhances consumption optimization during power disruptions. Homeowners gain the ability to monitor, plan, and regulate their energy usage using the mySolarEdge app.
Those interested in these advancements can see the SolarEdge ONE and Local Controller showcased at the SolarEdge booth (Hall B4, Stand 110) during Intersolar Europe from June 14-16. The availability of these innovations for both new and existing SolarEdge-compatible home products is anticipated in the latter half of 2023.
