Dynamic development of Budimex Mobility thanks to the technological support of Elocity

Acquiring 112 charging stations from Enea and an additional 31 from PGE showcases the continuous growth of Budimex Mobility’s network. This expansion highlights the company’s dedication to enhancing its services. Users of the Elocity application are reaping the benefits of this swift progress.

Just about a year ago, in May 2022, we shared the news of Budimex’s entry into the electric vehicle industry. Back then, the company had set ambitious objectives and held a positive outlook on the potential of electromobility. Presently, as Budimex takes charge of even more charging stations, it solidifies that its initial plans were grounded in a clear and thoughtfully executed strategy.

Budimex, a major construction group in Poland, has embarked on a new venture that aligns with its natural growth trajectory. While the company has long been a leader in the construction industry, venturing into the realm of electromobility posed an entirely fresh challenge. In September 2022, during the Economic Forum in Karpacz, Budimex unveiled a new subsidiary called Budimex Mobility. This entity is now steadfastly executing its strategy in the field of emobility, with crucial technological backing from Elocity.

“Even before launching Budimex Mobility, we closely monitored the emerging EV market in Poland,” explains Jakub Długoszek, a Member of the Management Board of Budimex Mobility SA. “We were well aware that achieving our ambitious growth objectives would necessitate the right technology partner. Elocity brings its experience to the table, enabling us to focus on expanding our charging station network,” Długoszek adds.

As noted by a representative from Budimex Mobility, the market for zero-emission transportation is still in its early stages. This is reflected in the utilization levels of charging stations and the relatively longer period required for return on investment. However, the expert also highlights a visible surge in the popularity of electric vehicles in Poland. There’s been a noticeable shift in the perception of electric cars, particularly among environmentally conscious individuals. The ever-expanding network of charging stations, an endeavor actively driven by Budimex Mobility, is significantly contributing to the growth of emission-free transportation in the country.

Nearly 150 charging stations by the end of the quarter

The Budimex Mobility initiative is all set to establish DC charging stations along expressways. The company is currently in the process of rolling out 112 stations acquired from Enea, but there’s even more news to come from Budimex.

“We’re taking a strategic and sensible approach to planning our network expansion. We’re attentive to both market opportunities and potential challenges, while also carefully assessing station maintenance costs,” highlights Jakub Długoszek. “We’re actively participating in various tenders. Alongside the Enea-acquired stations, we’re now introducing 31 additional stations acquired from PGE. By the close of the second quarter this year, our goal is to have nearly 150 stations up and running under the Budimex Mobility banner,” the specialist affirms.

Budimex Mobility and Elocity – well-chosen partners

The remarkable progress achieved by Budimex Mobility wouldn’t have been possible without a proficient technological collaborator, which in this case is Elocity. Right from the start, Elocity has been providing the software necessary for managing the charging infrastructure while also sharing its valuable insights.

“The success story of Budimex Mobility clearly demonstrates that the Polish electromobility market still has room for new entrants,” asserts Michał Baranowski, CEO of Elocity. “Budimex is a partner that possesses a sharp business focus and approaches investments and growth with a highly considerate mindset. This approach attracts both private businesses and local governments to collaborate, as they recognize that despite Budimex’s relatively short time in the EV sector, it brings a wealth of experience and stability. Moreover, Budimex, along with Elocity, proudly represents 100% Polish ownership,” Baranowski adds.
