SolarEdge introduces a solar powered EV management solution for the commercial and industrial segment
SolarEdge Technologies, a prominent company in smart energy technologies on a global scale, has introduced a new solution aimed at managing electric vehicles (EVs) connected to solar systems. This innovative solution is designed for the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector, providing effective management and integration of solar energy and EVs in those settings.
SolarEdge Technologies has introduced an advanced software-based solution that expands its offerings for the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector. This solution focuses on managing and optimizing the charging process for electric vehicles (EVs) in locations with dynamic load management needs and a high number of EVs, like residential buildings, workplaces, and public charging points.
Developed using advanced predictive algorithms and artificial intelligence (AI), this solution includes real-time data analysis and considers factors like solar power production, changing electricity prices, and charging schedules. It seamlessly integrates with SolarEdge’s energy management system, ensuring coordination and optimization between on-site solar power generation, stationary battery storage, and large-scale EV charging. It also takes into account grid and infrastructure limitations.
The technology behind this EV charging management solution comes from Wevo Energy, a startup specializing in EV charging optimization and management software in which SolarEdge has invested.
Zvi Lando, CEO of SolarEdge Technologies, emphasized that combining solar PV and EV charging is a cost-effective and sustainable approach for businesses looking to electrify their vehicle fleets. Teddy Flatau, CEO of Wevo Energy, mentioned that their solution has already been implemented in various parking spaces globally and that the collaboration with SolarEdge will expedite the deployment of a balanced EV charging infrastructure.
SolarEdge will showcase this new C&I EV charging solution and Wevo Energy software at Intersolar, aiming to initially launch it in Germany and the UK, with future plans to expand to other markets.
