French Company E-Dolphin Launches Electric Jet Ski That Could Redefine Personal Water Mobility

French company E-Dolphin is launching an electric jet ski that could set a new course for personal water mobility. The model, named S300, combines futuristic design, impressive performance, and eco-friendly technology. It’s powered by a 160-horsepower electric motor drawing energy from a 30 kWh battery. This setup allows for around two hours of intensive riding, with a top speed of 50 knots (about 90 km/h).

Futuristic design
This is more than just a vehicle—it’s a manifesto of the ideas behind E-Dolphin. Its founder, Nicolas Florès, who has long ties to the Mediterranean coast, explains that the inspiration for creating an electric jet ski came from both childhood memories of being on the water and a deeper reflection on the impact of noise and emissions on marine life.

“I grew up riding jet skis and watching dolphins. Over time, I realized that while these machines are thrilling, they also damage what’s most precious in the water,” says Florès.

The S300 attracts attention not just with its performance. Its hull is made from carbon fiber, which makes it lightweight yet strong. Distinctive neon green accents give it a 90s vibe reinterpreted through a modern lens. The ergonomic seat comfortably accommodates two people, and a clear LED display in front of the rider shows speed, battery level, and route information.

Charging the jet ski is also innovative: from a standard outlet, charging takes 8 hours; a 220V three-phase socket shortens it to 2.5 hours, and a fast DC charger can top up the battery in just 30 minutes. This makes the E-Dolphin jet ski not only practical for water transport but also relatively user-friendly—especially for lake house or marina owners.

Not the first attempt, but the most refined
While the S300 is making waves as a new product, it’s not the first electric jet ski in history. Back in 2019, a model called JetPad was developed in the UAE with help from Polish engineers. Despite its quiet operation and eco-friendly power, JetPad didn’t achieve commercial success—largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which froze many innovative projects.

The S300, however, has a better shot at mainstream success. E-Dolphin emphasizes that their product is not only powerful but also highly reliable. The engine has few failure-prone components, and the entire vehicle requires far less maintenance than traditional gas-powered jet skis.

Green comes at a price
There’s one major drawback—price. The E-Dolphin S300 electric jet ski costs nearly €40,000 (net), or about 175,000 PLN (at an exchange rate of 4.4 PLN/EUR). That’s more than double the average price of traditional gas-powered jet skis. For comparison, new models like the Yamaha FX HO 2024 or Sea-Doo GTI 155 SE sell for around €16,000–21,000 gross (approx. 70,000–90,000 PLN). A basic Sea-Doo Spark can be found for as little as 11,500 PLN.

E-Dolphin offers a lifetime warranty for the first 50 customers, which may serve as a compelling incentive. All other buyers receive a standard two-year warranty—considered sufficient by the manufacturer given the vehicle’s durability and simple design.

Is the market ready for change?
Is the personal water transport market ready for such a shift? That remains an open question. On one hand, there’s growing pressure to reduce noise and emissions in aquatic environments—especially in nature-protected zones. On the other, the high price tag of the S300 limits its appeal to a narrow premium audience.

Still, it’s worth remembering that electric cars faced a similar situation early on. Initially expensive, they gradually became more affordable and popular. If the S300 finds its first adopters and production costs drop, E-Dolphin could pave the way for other manufacturers and trigger a green revolution on the water.

Silence instead of engine roar
In an era when peace and quiet in nature are increasingly scarce, E-Dolphin challenges the status quo. Their electric jet ski isn’t just a vehicle—it’s a proposal for a different lifestyle: one that’s closer to nature, more responsible, yet still dynamic and full of excitement.

If other companies follow suit and prices begin to fall, in just a few years silent electric jet skis might become a common sight in ports and bays, replacing their fuel-guzzling predecessors—to the benefit of the environment and… dolphins.
