Global investment platform Qualitas Energy announced on April 9, 2026, the acquisition of a significant portfolio of photovoltaic farms in Poland. The transaction includes nine operating installations with a total capacity of 376 MWp. The assets were acquired from the joint venture between Better Energy Holding A/S and Industriens Pension. All of the solar farms began commercial operations between 2021 and 2024. Following this acquisition, the total capacity of the company’s operational and under-construction PV projects in Poland has exceeded 600 MWp.

Geographic diversification and revenue stability

The acquired portfolio is characterized by strong operational diversification. The solar farms are located across different parts of the country and are connected to the grids of three distribution system operators: Tauron, Energa, and Enea. Combined annual electricity generation from these assets exceeds 400 GWh. This amount of clean energy is enough to power approximately 210,000 households.

The fund has secured revenues from the installations through:

  • Long-term Contracts for Difference (CfD) under the Polish auction support scheme.
  • Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) signed with industrial offtakers.
  • A diversified portfolio of offtakers with high creditworthiness.
  • Plans to hybridize the assets by integrating battery energy storage systems.

Energy storage as the next investment step

Qualitas Energy plans to equip the acquired solar farms with energy storage systems in the coming months. The hybridization process aims to improve grid stability and unlock additional market value from the assets. The company is already pursuing similar initiatives at the Miłkowice Solar Farm, a 113 MWp facility that is currently the third-largest solar park in Poland. In addition to photovoltaic assets, the company manages a portfolio of greenfield wind projects in the country with a total capacity exceeding 1.2 GW.

Poland as a strategic market for the new fund

The acquisition of the Better Energy portfolio marks the first investment under the company’s latest investment vehicle, Qualitas Energy Fund VI. The fund entered its investment period in February 2026. Company representatives emphasize that Poland is a market with strong fundamentals and significant growth potential in the renewable energy sector.

Qualitas Energy has been active in the Polish market since 2020. The company has offices in Warsaw and Wrocław, where it employs a team of 30 specialists. Since 2006, the Qualitas Energy team has invested more than €14 billion globally in the energy transition.
