Clear Channel Poland, a prominent global player in outdoor advertising, has committed to powering its extensive network of advertising media with green energy supplied by Polenergia Głos for the next five years. This commitment is the outcome of a forward-looking Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (cPPA) designed for sustainability, with the energy supplies under this agreement commencing on January 1, 2024.

Polenergia Sales has entered into a smart Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (cPPA) contract with Clear Channel Poland, facilitating a direct supply of energy from the producer to the recipient. Over the next five years, the advertising media of Clear Channel Poland will be exclusively powered by renewable energy, predominantly sourced from the Dębsk Wind Farm, a prominent player among the largest wind farms in Poland.

Lower carbon footprint and sustainability

Robert Rutowicz, a Member of the Management Board of Polenergia Głos, underscores that the collaboration with Clear Channel Poland is not only an opportunity for them to diminish their carbon footprint but also serves as an inspiration for other companies to adopt similar environmentally conscious actions. The smart Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (cPPA) specifically encompasses energy supplies from the Dębsk Wind Farm, boasting a total capacity of 121 MW, and which commenced operations in 2023.

Magdalena Bandurska, Head of Development at Clear Channel Poland, highlights the company’s dedication to not only expanding its digital media offerings but also prioritizing considerations such as location, media quality, and environmental stewardship. She further notes that all new screens installed by Clear Channel Poland since 2022 have certifications validating sustainable development practices.

As a part of Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings (CCOH), Clear Channel Poland is deeply committed to sustainable development, actively supporting ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) and corporate social responsibility initiatives. The collaboration with Polenergia Sales marks another significant step towards achieving these sustainability goals while concurrently contributing to a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.

The contract structure is based on the Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (cPPA) model, where the energy recipient directly engages with the producer. This arrangement provides independence from market fluctuations in energy prices. Furthermore, the energy supplied under this contract originates from renewable sources, resulting in a zero-carbon footprint associated with this type of agreement.
