Over 2/3 of Polish fleets want to introduce electric vehicles

A report from Arval in 2023 found that many companies that use groups of vehicles, called fleets, are thinking about using electric cars. They say that 71% of these fleets want to start using electric cars in the next 3 years. In Poland, a country in Europe, almost half of the companies (47%) that have fleets of vehicles say they already have cars that use different kinds of fuel in their groups of vehicles.

Compared to last year’s report by Arval, the new numbers look really good. In 2022, only 32% of fleets had cars with different fuel types, and a little more than half of the companies said they would use electric cars within 3 years.

In a presentation of a report by the Consulting & Arval Mobility Observatory, a person named Radosław Kitala, who manages things, said that 16% of companies in Poland and 24% in the European Union have cars that run completely on electricity. They expect these numbers to grow to 35% in our country and 40% in Europe within three years.

The report also talks about changes in how fleets are paid for. Right now, 32% of them are paid for through leasing (which was 46% before), 30% with the companies’ own money (compared to 31% a year ago), and 27% with long-term rental (which was 15% before).

The number of electric vehicles is increasing not only in fleets

As of the end of April 2023, there are a total of 40,926 fully electric cars (called BEVs) that are registered in Poland, according to the Polish Automotive Industry Association (PZPM) and the Polish Alternative Fuels Association (PSPA). This number has gone up by 7,201 cars in the first four months of this year. This increase is big – it’s 71% more compared to the same time in 2022.

Not just cars, there’s also been a noticeable rise in the number of electric mopeds, motorcycles, and hybrid cars. We now have more than half a million of them in total.

Lately, there has been good progress in building places where electric cars can be charged. By the end of April 2023, there are 2,768 public places where electric vehicles can be charged in Poland. These places have a total of 5,440 charging points.

Support programs, like subsidies, are playing a big role in making electric vehicles more popular in Poland. The My Electrician program recently got more money added to its budget. You can find more information about it by clicking HERE.
