Munich-based company Entrix GmbH has been selected to optimize and commercialize the large-scale Schloen energy storage project, with a capacity of 36 MW and 144 MWh in northeastern Germany. The project was developed by independent power producer The Dillinger Group in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The partnership is also relevant from a regional perspective, as Entrix is actively expanding its presence in Central Europe and already manages battery assets in Poland.

Algorithmic trading in spot markets

Entrix’s role will include full optimization of the storage system’s operation and trading electricity across multiple exchanges, including the day-ahead and intraday markets. The Schloen battery will be directly connected to the distribution grid operated by e.dis Netz GmbH.

For The Dillinger Group—an energy developer specializing in large-scale solar, wind, storage, and e-mobility infrastructure—the commissioning of Schloen is an important step in its strategy to expand co-located renewable and storage projects.

Experience from the Polish market pays off in Germany

The selection of Entrix was not accidental. The company is building a position as one of Europe’s leading aggregators of flexible energy assets. According to the Munich-based firm, it currently manages over 70 energy storage assets.

Beyond Germany, Entrix operates in Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Poland, where experience gained in optimizing battery systems in spot markets and ancillary services is now being applied to new projects in neighboring markets.
