American Solar and Energy Storage Developer Emeren Partners with Italian Fund Arpinge for 300 MW Battery Projects in Southern Italy. Strengthening Presence in Italy’s Energy Storage Market
Emeren Group Ltd, a U.S.-based solar and energy storage developer, has announced a partnership with Italian fund Arpinge to jointly develop a portfolio of battery energy storage systems (BESS) with a total capacity of 300 MW in southern Italy.
This collaboration aligns with Emeren’s strategy to bolster its presence in Italy’s energy storage sector
The company revealed it already has projects totaling 1.37 GW of energy storage capacity in the permitting stage within its Italian portfolio. “Our success in forming partnerships with top-tier investors like Arpinge demonstrates Emeren’s ability to quickly identify market opportunities and create value through our proven Development Service Agreement (DSA) model,” said Yumin Liu, Emeren Group’s CEO.
Driving Italy’s Sustainable Energy Transition
Arpinge, established by Italian pension funds Cassa Geometri, Eppi, and Inarcassa, focuses on investing in sustainable infrastructure. Federico Merola, Arpinge’s president, emphasized that the partnership reflects the fund’s commitment to accelerating the deployment of energy storage solutions critical for grid stability and the integration of renewable energy sources.
