In 2022, Energynat obtained a license to engage in electricity trading. Could you please share your plans for advancing and expanding this aspect of your business?
Securing the energy trading concession marked a significant milestone in our journey towards establishing a comprehensive eco-energy offering for businesses and local government entities. Our market entry was accompanied by an initial portfolio of close to 100 GWh of energy sourced from renewable sources, and our ambition is to see this volume grow twofold in the upcoming years.
It’s worth highlighting that the concession we’ve obtained serves as a testament to the exceptional standards upheld by our team in terms of expertise and experience, the caliber of services we deliver, and the robust financial health of our company.
The dynamic development of the Energynat Group is largely due to the company’s integrated business model, focus on business and local government clients, and the expansion of activities in the area of distribution to foreign markets.
Securing the title of “Gazela Biznesu 2022” for yet another consecutive year stands as a reaffirmation of your market standing. Could you shed light on the factors that propelled your company to achieve a notable 6th position in this year’s rankings?
The remarkable growth of the Energynat Group can be primarily attributed to its integrated business approach, dedicated focus on both corporate and local government clientele, and strategic expansion into international markets. Our successful endeavors span across several countries including the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania, and Germany, where we proudly launched our subsidiary, Energynat Deutschland GmbH.
Thanks to our enduring partnerships and the confidence of our partners and manufacturers, we operate as an importer and authorized distributor, annually delivering hundreds of megawatts of equipment to clients throughout Poland and Europe.

We commence by thoroughly assessing our clients’ requirements and then curate customized products and services, resulting in tangible savings. In addition to our photovoltaic installations, our repertoire encompasses tailored participation models within the energy market. These encompass a variety of options, ranging from Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) and direct sourcing from renewable energy sources to energy procurement from the day-ahead market, alongside other exchange-based products. Our comprehensive suite of renewable energy solutions is designed to not only cut costs but also diminish carbon footprints. While photovoltaic installations stand as a key tool within this array, we’ve also developed an in-house IT system proficient in handling cPPA contracts and energy storage facilities.
Do you also work with prosumers?
Certainly, our portfolio extends to encompass solutions finely tuned to prosumers’ specific requirements. Yet, it’s crucial to emphasize that our true forte lies in catering to business prosumers, a niche we’re keen on nurturing. One of our notable contributions for enterprises is a proprietary Smart-Billing model, forged by Energynat. This innovation is our direct response to the regulatory changes of the previous year. Functioning as a service, it revolves around the meticulous management and optimization of costs pertaining to the procurement and sale of energy derived from renewable sources. The outcome is a significantly more efficient energy billing process compared to the legislator’s Net-Billing system proposal.
We are undoubtedly one of the fastest growing companies on the domestic renewable energy market and, which makes us very happy, also at the forefront of the most dynamically prospering companies from the small and medium-sized enterprises sector in Europe.
What are the current ambitions of the Energynat Group and what are the most important goals you want to achieve in the near future?
Our growth within the domestic renewable energy sector has been exceptional, solidifying our position as one of the fastest-growing companies. What’s even more gratifying is our standing among the most dynamically thriving enterprises within Europe’s small and medium-sized business landscape.
Our momentum remains unwavering. In the realm of importing and distributing photovoltaic components, our current ambition involves expanding into foreign markets and establishing permanent branches across various European countries. Additionally, we’re dedicated to systematically broadening our offerings, including the introduction of large-scale energy storage solutions tailored for industrial applications.
As an installation company, our aspiration is to lead in innovation, offering advanced renewable energy solutions for businesses. The Energynat Group is shaping its foundation around delivering and innovating renewable energy solutions. Looking ahead, how do you foresee the future of renewable energy sources (RES) in Poland for the coming years?
Following the disruptions of 2022, the renewable energy sources (RES) market in Poland is poised for significant and dynamic growth. This momentum can be attributed to favorable shifts in legislation, geopolitical factors, and the European Union’s strategic push to transition away from coal-dependent energy. Notably, the German market, which sets trends across Europe, is a noteworthy example. Their resolute commitment to energy transformation, bolstered by consistent policies, is a driving force behind the robust RES development in this part of the continent.
In Poland, however, several challenges persist, and there’s a prominent systemic issue regarding energy networks. Anticipated for 2024 is a marked increase in the adoption of energy storage solutions. This surge is primarily due to the networks’ inefficiencies and shifts in electricity pricing structures. Notably, periods of high RES generation are accompanied by very low energy prices. Considering both technical and economic considerations, a substantial portion of business photovoltaic installations in Poland are likely to necessitate energy storage starting next year. This trend toward embracing batteries will also extend to individual customers, partly due to forthcoming regulations that mandate surplus settlement based on hourly prices from the Day-Ahead Market on the Polish Power Exchange, effective from July 1, 2024.
