NPA Skawina secures a long‑term contract with PSE. The agreement may be worth around 250 million PLN
NPA Skawina, a company within the Boryszew Group, has signed a framework agreement with Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE) for the supply of aluminium conductors. The contract covers the years 2026–2031, and the estimated value of orders that may be executed during this period amounts to approximately 250 million PLN net.
Long‑term cooperation in grid expansion
The agreement marks a significant strengthening of NPA Skawina’s position in the market for supplies to Poland’s power‑grid infrastructure. Long‑term cooperation with the national transmission system operator is also expected to support further development of the aluminium‑conductor production segment within the Boryszew Group.
As highlighted in the company’s announcement, the signed contract aligns with the Boryszew Group’s strategy for 2025–2029. The strategy includes expanding production capacity and developing competencies in the manufacturing of aluminium conductors, which play an increasingly important role in the modernisation of power networks.
Worth knowing
Aluminium is currently one of the most important materials used in the construction of power‑transmission lines worldwide. Compared with copper, it is significantly lighter, which allows for longer spans and lower structural costs. For this reason, most new high‑voltage overhead lines in Europe and North America use aluminium conductors, often reinforced with a steel core.
Boryszew remains one of the leaders of Polish industry
Boryszew Group is one of the largest industrial enterprises in Poland. It operates in sectors including automotive, non‑ferrous metal processing, and industrial chemistry.
