PSE launches ESOP. The new system is designed to streamline the grid‑connection process
The process of applying for grid‑connection conditions in the transmission network is entering a new stage of digitalization. Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne has made a new application available within the Business Partner Portal — the Electronic Connection Service System (ESOP). The tool was created to handle applications for determining connection conditions and is intended to improve communication between investors and the transmission system operator.
One portal instead of paper documentation
ESOP enables electronic handling of the process of submitting and managing applications for determining connection conditions. To use the new solution, users must register as a business partner of the operator in the Business Partner Portal and obtain a business partner identifier. Individuals who already have an account in the BPP should submit a request to extend their permissions to include access to the new application.
The new solution fits into the broader trend of digitalizing administrative processes in the energy sector, where increasing emphasis is placed on electronic document circulation and faster information exchange.
Faster processing and greater transparency
As PSE spokesperson Maciej Wapiński emphasizes, the main goal of implementing the system is to simplify the entire application‑handling process.
– The system is primarily intended to facilitate the submission, verification, and processing of applications. It will also reduce the amount of paper documentation, streamline the workflow, and allow users to easily check the status of their applications. As a result, the entire process will be much more efficient for both applicants and the operator, explains the spokesperson.
Thanks to the ability to track case status online, investors will gain greater transparency, and communication with the operator will take place in a more organized manner.
This is only the beginning of the system’s development
PSE announces that ESOP will be gradually expanded. Planned functionalities include broadening the scope of published information regarding issued connection conditions and available connection capacities.
– Plans include adding more data on issued connection conditions and available connection capacities. We are open to suggestions for new functionalities, says Maciej Wapiński.
The expansion of the system is intended to respond to market needs and the growing number of investments related to the energy transition and the development of new generation sources.
No limits on the number of submitted applications
PSE also emphasizes that from a technical standpoint, ESOP has no limitations regarding the number of handled submissions. This means the system has been designed to support both the current and future growth in the number of applications for connection to the transmission network.
The launch of ESOP is another step in the digital modernization of processes carried out by the transmission system operator. Electronic handling of applications is expected to shorten document‑exchange times, increase transparency of proceedings, and facilitate cooperation with investors implementing new energy projects.
