Over 400 GWh of green energy per year. Qualitas Energy acquires a portfolio of nine PV farms in Poland
The global investment platform Qualitas Energy announced on 9 April 2026 the acquisition of a significant portfolio of photovoltaic farms in Poland. The transaction covers nine operational installations with a total capacity of 376 MWp. The assets were purchased from the joint venture Better Energy Holding A/S and Industriens Pension. All farms entered commercial operation between 2021 and 2024. Following this acquisition, the total capacity of Qualitas Energy’s operational and under‑construction PV projects in Poland has exceeded 600 MWp.
Geographical diversification and revenue stability
The acquired portfolio is characterized by strong operational diversification. The farms are located in different regions of the country and connected to the grids of three distribution system operators: Tauron, Energa and Enea. Their combined annual energy production exceeds 400 GWh, enough to supply around 210,000 households. The fund has secured revenue streams through:
- long‑term Contracts for Difference under the Polish auction system,
- power purchase agreements (PPAs) signed with industrial offtakers,
- a diversified portfolio of customers with high creditworthiness,
- plans to hybridize the assets by adding energy storage systems.
Energy storage as the next investment step
Qualitas Energy plans to equip the newly acquired farms with energy storage systems in the coming months. The hybridization process aims to improve grid stability and unlock additional market value from the assets. The company is already implementing similar measures at the 113 MWp Miłkowice solar farm, currently the third‑largest PV installation in Poland. In addition to its solar assets, the company manages a portfolio of greenfield wind projects in the country, with a combined capacity exceeding 1.2 GW.
Poland as a strategic market for the new fund
The acquisition from Better Energy is the first investment under the company’s newest investment vehicle, Qualitas Energy Fund VI, which began its investment period in February 2026. Company representatives emphasize that Poland is a market with strong fundamentals and significant growth potential in the renewable energy sector. Qualitas Energy has been active in Poland since 2020 and operates offices in Warsaw and Wrocław, employing a team of 30 specialists. Since 2006, the Qualitas Energy team has allocated more than EUR 14 billion to the global energy transition.
