Solaris Bus & Coach signs a contract with one of Sweden’s largest transport operators, Keolis Sverige, for the delivery of 46 modern electric buses. The agreement includes the delivery of 19 Solaris Urbino 12 electric buses and 27 Solaris Urbino 15 LE electric models. These vehicles will serve passengers in the picturesque Dalarna region, known for its stunning landscapes and high tourist activity.

Delivery Timeline

The first buses will hit Swedish roads in 2025, with Keolis receiving 15-meter Solaris Urbino 15 LE electric models, designed for both urban and intercity transportation. The following year, 12-meter Solaris Urbino 12 electric buses, mainly intended for urban use, will be delivered.

Cutting-Edge Technologies and Eco-Friendly Solutions

The Solaris Urbino 12 electric and Solaris Urbino 15 LE electric models feature advanced technological solutions to enhance travel comfort and safety.

Urbino 12 electric, awarded the Sustainable Bus Award 2025 in the urban bus category, is designed for all-day operation, equipped with High Energy batteries offering 600 kWh capacity and a 240 kW traction motor.
Urbino 15 LE electric boasts 700 kWh battery capacity, ensuring an extended operational range. Its design supports longer routes, with passenger amenities such as three-point seatbelts, USB ports, and air conditioning.
Both models incorporate a modular drive system that maximizes passenger space. Additionally, they are equipped with systems to minimize collision risks with pedestrians and cyclists, cameras replacing mirrors, and monitoring systems for both interior and surroundings. The Urbino 15 LE electric also features a driver fatigue monitoring system.

Solaris: A Leader in Green Transport Solutions

“The order of 46 electric buses by Keolis is a significant step toward more eco-friendly mobility solutions in Sweden. We are thrilled to implement zero-emission solutions in city centers and suburban areas, which we believe is crucial for the global transport transformation,” said Sverre Skaar, CEO of Solaris Sverige AB.

Solaris Bus & Coach has been collaborating with Swedish transport operators since 2003, delivering nearly 700 vehicles to Sweden, most of which are low- or zero-emission models. The new contract with Keolis Sverige reinforces Solaris’s position as a European leader in providing green transport solutions and highlights the company’s commitment to developing sustainable transportation in the Nordic region.

With this order, the Dalarna region will become another area advancing toward sustainable mobility goals.
